چکیده

Background Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is an increasingly recognized neuroinflammatory disease entity in which early detection and treatment leads to the best clinical outcomes. Movement disorders occur AE but their characteristics are not well defined. Objectives To identify frequency, classification, prognostic significance of movement AE. Methods We conducted a systematic review random-effects meta-analysis cell surface antibody mediated The frequency any disorder as classification serotypes was determined. looked at adults 18 years older included publications that described least 10 cases. used following four electronic databases: Medline (Ovid), EMBASE APA Psychinfo, Cochrane library. Results A total 1,192 titles abstracts were reviewed. Thirty-seven studies final meta-analysis. At one kind present 40% entire cohort, 53% with anti-NMDA receptor antibodies, 33% anti-CASPR2 30% anti-LGI1 antibodies 13% anti-GABA antibodies. Dyskinesia commonest faciobrachial dystonic seizures most frequent Patients tended have higher mortality. risk bias mostly moderate or high. Conclusion common identification, conjunction other paraclinical features, may facilitate earlier diagnosis. implications warrant further dedicated study. Antibody-mediated neuronal cell signaling in behavior and movement disorders.

Behavioral and movement disorders may have antibody responses where mimicry and signal transduction may lead to neuropsychiatric abnormalities. In our study, antibodies in pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococci (PANDAS) reacted with the neuronal cell surface and caudate-putamen and induced calcium-calmodulin dependent protein (CaM) kinase II activity in neu...
